Profile

EC Pigments was formed in July 2000 with the integration of European Colour (Pigments) Limited and Roma Color Inc. The company can trace its origins back to the 19th century.

The Company is a global supplier of organic pigments. We promote and sell our products through our extensive network of agents and distributors. Sales to the United Kingdom and USA are carried out on a direct basis.

EC Pigments produces organic pigments for the printing ink, plastics and coatings markets. For a number of years the business focussed almost exclusively on the printing inks market but more recently has found success in plastics and coatings areas.

The product range consists of classical azo pigments, metal salt azo pigments, naphthol pigments and basic dye complex pigments. Our products find their way into printing inks and especially into printing inks for packaging applications.

EC Pigments invests a large percentage of sales revenue on new product development. This commitment has led to market leading products which have fuelled our growth.

The Company has sought to incorporate all of the best practices with respect to customer service, sales and technical support, but without losing the speed of response required by its customers. Flat management structures and extensive use of information technology have allowed the Company to grow its market share without losing business agility. This process of seeking continuous improvement to all processes within the business has been one of the key reasons for our success.

Pigments are produced at our two European and one American manufacturing facilities. The Company employs approximately 200 people.

The Company takes its environmental and ecological responsibilities seriously. Specific development programmes have been introduced which will allow formulators greater pigment choice when environmental or ecological considerations are to the fore. Active membership of the British Colour Makers' Association, the Color Pigment Manufacturers' Association and ETAD (Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers) underlines this commitment.
